FAQ
Q. Are there any more instructions?
A. There is a readme.rtf file that is included when you extract the files.
Q. I'm getting lots of files on my desktop everytime I quit Realtime.
A.
Make a folder, as it says in the instructions, and place the
Realtime.exe file there. You can make a shortcut and leave that on the
desktop.
Q. I
don't see any stats
A. Check your folder settings for the site you are playing on. Realtime
tries to guess which folders you are using but if you have two accounts
or have installed the site software in a non-standard location you will
have to set this up manually.
Q. I'm playing on Party Poker. I see that Realtime recognizes the table
I open, but it doesn't display any stats.
A. Unfortunately I live in the US and am unable to test the program by
playing on Party. There does seem to be a problem with reading the
Party hand histories directly. I can only observe hands using a mining
program. I used FPHG.
It is free and it Realtime definitely works with it. Realtime may work
with other programs, I have not tested them. The default
settings
for the observed hands point to the folder FPHG uses to save
hands.
Q. I see some player stat panels but others are missing.
A.
Check and uncheck the box next to the table name in the Realtime
window. Try minimizing the table and restoring it. The idea is to try
and force the table to redraw everything, including hopefully the
missing stats. If this doesn't work try unchecking the "Flicker-free
drawing" option in the Preferences->Table Display menu.
This
isn't a problem I have seen, but others have reported it. I have
attempted some fixes in the Table Display menu. You will need to set
them up one at a time before opening a table. If you have been
experiecing this problem and find one of them works, I'd appreciate
feedback.
Q. I have Poker Tracker and I see I have more hands on players in Poker
Tracker, than appear in Realtime.
A. Have you imported all the hands you have saved into Realtime? You do
this using the "Rebuild Database from Archived Hands" button on the
appropiate site settings dialog. If you have done this and still seem
to be missing some hands try exporting all the hands you have from PT
to your archive folder and re-importing.
Q The player stat panels and mucked cards are appearing in the wrong
place.
A. You can move drag the panels around using the right mouse button.
Q The player stat panels and mucked cards are in different places on
different tables.
A. Check that the preferred seat (Stars) or auto-centering (Full Tilt)
settings on the site correspond to the settings you have for Realtime
on the Preferences->Site Settings Dialog box. Also check that
your
screen-name is correctly entered - though Realtime should prompt you if
it is incorrect.
Q. My computer is starting to slow down when Realtime is running.
A. If you have a lot of tables open you can switch off the stats
display on tables you are not playing on using the check-box next to
the table name. If you are still having problems try setting the stat
panel opacity to max using the slider on the Preference->Player
Display menu.
Q. How do I set the color of an individual player stat.
A. Go to the Preferences->Player Display. Select the stat form
the
displayed stats list box (on the right), you should see a color and
value appear in the Color Ranges list. E.g. White and "< inf". Click
on the color and select a new color from the drop-down box below the
list. Then click edit. The new color should now appear the list
replacing the original white.
You
can set up color ranges for the statistics you have chosen. Select the
stat from the right list, choose a color in the color range box and
enter a value for the upper bound of that color. Then clik the "Add"
button. For example, say you wanted to display the VP$IP in red for
players with a VP$IP of under 15%, orange for under 30 and green for
all others. First select red from the combo box below the list and
enter 15 in the edit box to the right and click "Add". Then select
orange, enter 30 and click "Add" again. Then select the last color
range in the list (with the lable <inf). Now select green from the
combo box and click edit.
If you check the "Adjust color for
sample size" option in the color range box, the stats get progressively
brighter as you have more samples. The idea is to be able to tell at a
glance how reliable a stat is. E.g. If someoene is playing with a VPIP
of 50, that doesn't mean a lot if you only have 2 hands to base it on -
if it is 25 hands, then that's another matter. The breaks in brightness
occur at 5, 10 and 25 samples.
Q. I just got the latest version and now there's something wierd with
the display.
A. Delete the prefs.txt file and reset your preferences. I try to keep
these files compatible between versions to save people time, but it
doesn't always work.
Q. I have a large database and am trying to import a lot of hands using
the Rebuild Database button, but it is going really slowly.
A. Realtime works best when the hands you are importing are more recent
than the hands you have already imported. You are probably better off
putting all the files in the same archive folder and importing
everyting from there rather than trying to import a large number of
older hands. For the same reason try to avoid importing a batch of
hands in chunks.
Q. My question isn't on this list.
A. I created a thread
on the 2+2 forum, before I created this site. Hopefully your
question is answered there.
Q. This program is great. How do I send you a donation.
A. You can credit my Paypal
account. (mlamb1@gmail.com). There's a link to Amazon's
payment
system within the program. You can also send me a player-to-player
transfer on Full Tilt - I'm "PauliGaultieri" or Stars ("Mr. D0!" -M, r,
period, space D, Zero, !) I think I may get in trouble if a lot of
people do this but so far that hasn't been a problem.
